The Dinosaur's Tail
What does the extinction of the Brontosaurus have to do with anything? It's all about "awareness" of the impact of our actions. Quite often in life we just go along, doing what we do, paying very little, if any, attention to what is happening around us. But, there are always consequences to everything we do and the mere fact that we may be unaware of these consequences doesn't alter their impact. This self-imposed blindness often sabotages our effort and leaves us feeling confused and resigned. If we pay attention, we can avoid doing to ourselves what the Brontosaurus did.
Boiling A Frog
"If you ever wanted to boil a frog..." Well, that's getting ahead of ourselves. You'll have to hear this talk if you want to know how that goes! But, why should we want to know such a thing? Believe it or not, you and I are a lot like a frog in hot water. We often find ourselves in completely unacceptable situations and have no idea - and take no responsibility - for having gotten there. Indeed, that's usually how we go through most of life. Ever wonder how that happens? This talk will shed some cold water (pardon the pun) on that question.
The Toaster
Here's a question for you. What's a toaster's job? You know, that little appliance that sits on the counter next to ... whatever. What's its job? You might know the answer to that question (but then again, you might not!), but do you have any idea how that information applies to us humans? You'll be surprised to learn just how much like a toaster we are and how much that impacts every single thing you do in life. This may be the most useful hour you'll ever spend in life!
Dangerous Thinking
Dangerous Thinking is described as thoughts, which if proven to be true, would shake the very foundations of long-held beliefs. For example, Columbus (who proposed that he could sail around the world), and Darwin, (who wrote "The Origin of the Species"), were dangerous thinkers for their time. Safe thinking may be easier, but nothing ever changes. Could you be a dangerous thinker? It's worth considering, don't you think?
